The Department of Medicine is seeking to hire a motivated Staff Research Associate I. Under the guidance of the Principal Investigator (PI), you will play a crucial role in assisting the PI and contributing to multiple laboratory projects focused on gastrointestinal and metabolic diseases. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, including specimen collection, sample cataloging, and the maintenance of our biobank. Additionally, you will be involved in cell culture and harvesting, running various assays, and performing animal experiments. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the daily operations of the laboratories, including assisting other investigators and ensuring smooth laboratory functioning. It will be your duty to maintain laboratory operations, implement quality control measures, and uphold safety programs to ensure a conducive and secure work environment. Your role will also involve transporting samples and equipment to and from other facilities within the UCLA campus, demonstrating your ability to efficiently manage logistical aspects of the research process. Target hourly rate: $25.75-$30.71
Required: * Ability to coordinate and prioritize work schedule. * Experience working at research laboratory. * Knowledge of patient confidentiality and safety requirement and ability to maintain it. Preferred: * Ability to learn new techniques as required. Strongly Preferred: * Degree in biological sciences.
