The Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology is currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Procurement Coordinator to join our team. As the Procurement Coordinator, you will provide essential purchasing support for various entities, including departments, divisions, research labs, and units within the department. Your primary responsibility will be serving as the main point of contact for all procurement needs. You will oversee, coordinate, report, and perform purchasing activities to ensure smooth operations. This will involve completing purchases, providing travel support, and processing reimbursement requests for faculty and staff members, all while ensuring compliance with University policies. Acting as a crucial liaison between the campus unit and vendors, you will play a vital role in facilitating timely and efficient purchase and payment processes. Your excellent communication and organizational skills will be instrumental in maintaining strong relationships with vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring that purchases align with the department's objectives. Target hourly rate: $24.81-$52.11
Required: * Analytical skills necessary to evaluate the cost effectiveness of purchasing options; * Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally; * Ability to read and interpret terms and conditions of contracts; Working level of proficiency in the use of standard spreadsheet and word processing software; * Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, with high degree of accuracy. * Working level of proficiency in the use of standard spreadsheet and word processing software. Preferred: * Some knowledge of the organization's departments and operations required in order to meet their procurement needs; * Understands procurement policies and systems such as Procurement, Travel systems, etc. * Experience in purchasing, 1-3 years preferred
