POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Director of Radiology, the incumbent is responsible for all supervisory and leadership aspects of Imaging services. The Radiology Manager is responsible for directing, planning, and monitoring clinical and technical operations, functions, and resources of the Imaging department. Which involves diagnostic, ultrasound, computerized tomography, and mammography.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
As a working manager, the incumbent operates various types of x-ray equipment, fluoroscopic x-ray equipment and auxiliary equipment to provide diagnostic images for interpretation by a radiologist. Work is performed with full independence and decision-making responsibility under the general consultative direction of the Director of Radiology. The Radiology Manager is responsible for regulatory requirements stipulated by state and federal agencies. The Radiology Manager exercises initiative, originality, and judgment in applying established principles and practices to new and unusual problems. Must perform calmly in stressful situations and interact with radiologists, clinicians, staff, and peers in a cooperative, harmonious manner for maximum effectiveness.



Qualifications
Minimum Education (or substitute experience) Required:
  • Valid Certification with the State of California as a Radiologic Technologist (CRT)
  • Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT (R)
  • CA Mammography Certificate (if applicable)
  • Current CPR certification
  • CPR
Education Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
Minimum Experience Required
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in performing a variety of mammography/CT examinations with a minimum of three (3) years of recent imaging experience
  • Supervisory skills to ensure fair and consistent supervision. Must have the knowledge and ability to supervise staff on designated shift.
  • Must have knowledge of MQSA, requirements, ACR requirements,
  • Ability to interpret and enforce departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Experience Preferred
  • Five (5) years in a supervisory/leadership role of a Radiology/Imaging Services department.
  • Experience in Computerized Tomography CT or willing to cross-train and become competent within 1 year of hire.
Special Requirements
  • Must be able to work variable hours/days, alternate shifts, and overtime to provide coverage as deemed necessary by operational demands or patient care needs.
  • Must be able to work evening, weekend, and holidays per departmental staffing guidelines.
  • Must be able to travel during inclement weather.
