Job Summary
The Quarry Operator II performs inspection in assigned areas to ensure the efficient operation of all crusher department equipment for maximum production of all crushed products. They will operate a caterpillar bulldozer or road grader to perform any tough grading or leveling work required in the quarry as well as other parts of the plant.

Compensation
Responsibilities
Crusher operation:
- Troubleshoot delays as directed by Production Control Supervisor
- Inspect equipment on all floors of the crusher area and report any problems concerning equipment, safety, spillages, etc., to the Quarry Supervisor and Production Control Supervisor
- Fill out daily crusher operating report listing delay hours, as well as reasons down, and overall safety condition
- Clean assigned areas and add lubrication to equipment as needed
Equipment Operation:
- Operate caterpillar to move compressors or wagon drills
- Inspect caterpillar for needed repairs and make minor repairs and adjustments; report the need for major repairs
Education
High school diploma/GED
Requirements/Qualifications
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Strong general knowledge of the function of equipment
- Ability to recognize mechanical defects and have the mechanical aptitude needed to make minor repairs
- Must work in a safe and efficient manner
- Physically capable of climbing to various operating levels
- Must be able to communicate effectively; strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work well with others
- This is a "safety-sensitive" position...employee subject to random drug testing
Conditions of Employment
Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check. Some positions require Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) registration/clearance as well as ongoing alcohol and drug testing.
