Trinity Health Mid Atlantic is looking for a scheduling coordinator to join our team- Assisting manager in monitoring call handling software and real time reports to ensure calls are being answered within SLA guidelines
- Providing technical training and assistance as well as overseeing the work of assigned employees performing, the duties of the Scheduling Associate and Specialist
- Updating and coordinating the scheduling workflow changes with the clinical departments.
- Completing scheduling of appointment, pre-registration, insurance verification via current HIS (Health Information System) and authorization requirements
- Screening all patients self-pay & out of network patients using approved technology. Liaising with the Medicaid Vendor and/or Benefit Advocate and other teams as appropriate
- Informing and explaining all applicable government and private funding programs and other cash payment plans or discounts to the patient and/or family.
- Screening outpatient, issues Advanced Beneficiary Notice as appropriate for Medicare primary outpatients and providing cost estimates.
- Participating in monthly team meetings to apprise team of changes and to address broader based departmental issues and initiatives.
Responsibilities :
Obtains complete patient and insurance information to appropriately schedule patient testing.
Interacts daily with physician offices and various departments within the Medical Center to ensure that patients receive services in a timely fashion.
Makes adjustments to a department’s scheduled hours by blocking-off specific times/ rooms on the system according to established protocols.
Coordinates daily work schedule for centralized scheduling.
When appropriate, confirms or cancels a patient’s procedure via Centralized Scheduling.
Communicates the Medical Center’s billing policies and procedures as well as any physician billing practices.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma Required
a minimum of five plus (5) years of scheduling experience in an acute care setting
Insurance Coverage and Benefits

EMR Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred oversight of staff or work processes experience
NAHAM CHAA or AAHAM CRCS certification, strongly preferred NAHAM CHAM or AAHAM CRCP certification
