HR Specialist [United States]


 
RBD California dba KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken) is looking to hire an HR Specialist to join their growing team!

We are currently seeking a talented human resources specialist who is passionate about recruiting, supporting, and developing talent through our company’s policies and managing procedures. Our ideal candidate will be responsible and reliable, and willing to regularly contribute to making our company a better place to work. She/he should be highly efficient, organized, and approachable. We expect applicants to have a solid knowledge of various HR functions and administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
Administrative:
  • Responds to all government mail-related matters (e.g. EDD, IRS, EEOC, DFEH)
  • Oversees and assists in designation and administration of leaves i.e. FMLA
  • HRIS system management: Maintain and update human resources documents, such as company policies, employment records, employee handbooks, performance evaluations etc.
  • Conduct audits i.e. (I-9, employee files, etc.)
  • General HR duties such as processing verifications of employment and unemployment claims
  • Handle office tasks, such as filing, generating reports and presentations, setting up meetings, and ordering supplies for HR.
  • Manage data entry, follow-up calls to employees, reporting, updating, and distributing forms.
  • Tracking of budget and expenses for the department
Employee Engagement:
  • Plans and administer special employee events for engagement and training
  • Consult with managers and supervisors concerning employee-related matters and provide guidance
  • Communicate and/or coordinate information with various individuals and/or departments on company-wide information.
  • Responsible for communication with employees regarding the concerns and questions they have and dealing with occasional incidents between employees.
Recruitment:
  • Create job postings and job descriptions with management.
  • Assists in recruitment, interview, and hiring process of Above-Restaurant employees.
  • Responsible for the new hire process, including offer letters, background checks
Safety:
  • Manage to report injuries and accidents to workers' compensation claims carrier and Safety system
  • Assist with COVID-19 cases (contact tracing, advise employees as to quarantine requirements, and notifications, report cases to the county and stay informed as to any changes to local or state regulations, etc.)

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, or a relevant field
  • HR Credentials (e.g. PHR, PHRca, or SHRM from the HR Certification Institute) are a plus
  • A minimum of 2 years proven experience in a similar role
  • Successful work experience as a Human Resources Specialist, administrator, or other HR position.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations pertaining to employment (i.e., discrimination, harassment, wage and hour, etc.)
  • Strength of character, ethics, commitment, and reliability
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Solid problem-solving and team management abilities
  • Excellent decision-making skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and information with tact and diplomacy, and confidentiality.
  • The ability to work extensively in an office environment, however, may be required to occasionally travel.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
