Job Summary

The Crew Scheduling Product Analyst invests in the future of Southwest’s People by serving as a liaison between Crew Scheduling and Technology Teams developing technical products that enable Crew Scheduling business capabilities. This role develops a thorough understanding of Crew Operations business processes, applications, and data to convey requirements, support development, and v alidate changes in partnership with Technology using Scaled Agile processes. The Crew Scheduling Product Analyst uses their strategic problem-solving skills and data-driven mindset to drive the future of Southwest’s Crew Scheduling Department.

This role is a hybrid position based out of our Corporate Campus in Dallas, TX, which requires Employees to work onsite on our Corporate Campus at least three days a week. The Department designates the specific three days of the week Employees must work on-site.

Responsibilities

Develop a thorough understanding of the business capabilities, processes, rules, applications, and data for the Crew Scheduling Department

Collaborate with Technology Partners using Scaled Agile Product Management processes

Align with Crew Scheduling application users, stakeholders and Leaders on business priorities and needs

Act as Crew Scheduling subject matter expert by assisting Technology in understanding business context, priorities, and needs

Provide support for Technology and applications used by Crew Schedulers

Partner with Technology to coordinate and validate software releases by thoroughly executing the appropriate test catalog

Perform daily monitoring of system performance and coordinate with Technology and vendors for problem resolution

Identify, evaluate, and document system errors and requested enhancements through routine performance monitoring and requirements gathering

Provide clear and concise requirements documentation to the Technology department

Interact with the user groups, the Technology department, and vendors to set priorities and verify the status of outstanding issues

May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of Scaled Agile Product Management methodology and processes

Skilled at presenting complex information to various levels of Leadership

Skilled in intermediate application testing

Skilled in Microsoft Suite, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Ability to think strategically and possess excellent analytical skills

Ability to multitask, handle frequent interruptions, and adjust to changing priorities

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, collective bargaining agreements, and government regulations

Ability to communicate in a flexible and effective manner

Ability to work with incomplete data, make informed decisions, and work on topics that are not clearly defined

Ability to learn new technology and business procedures and best practices

Ability to collect and analyze business data, share solution recommendations with Team, and collaborate on feedback to be shared with business

Ability to analyze business issues and needs and develop product requirements

Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Ability to make decisions with minimal guidance and oversight Education
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
Advanced level experience, seasoned and specialized knowledge in:
Support of business applications, platforms, customer service, and testing
Airline operations including but not limited to, Crew Scheduling, Crew Planning, or Technical Solutions Team
Licensing/Certification

Physical Abilities
Ability to perform work duties from limited space work station/desk/office area for extended periods of time
Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
Other Qualifications
Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
Extended work hours and some weekends may occasionally be required to meet project deadlines or to resolve urgent production issues and system deployments

Competitive market salary from $84,350 per year to $93,700 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
